*A Recognized Horse Trial is a horse triathlon where the horse/rider combination competes first in a Dressage Arena doing a set test according to the level of competition, and also in two additional jumping phases. One jumping phase is Cross Country over fixed obstacles which includes water obstacles, the other named Show Jumping is in an arena over colorful obstacles which can be knocked down.
Eventing, also known as Combined Training, is an equestrian pursuit in which riders of all ages and abilities can compete. Developed from cavalry competitions during the early 1900’s, eventing is the ultimate challenge for horse and rider, testing their partnership and athletic prowess in three diverse and demanding disciplines:
• The grace and harmony of dressage
• The rigors and thrills of cross-country jumping
• The power and pageantry of show jumping.
Eventing offers a superb display of courage, agility and talent performed by horse and rider – two separate minds and bodies working in perfect unison.
